Google Ads Brings More Visibility to AI-Generated Text
  • Preview AI-Generated Ad Copy: Google Ads now lets advertisers generate and review up to 10 sample headlines and descriptions, usually in under 30 seconds, before enabling text customization or launching a campaign.
  • More Control Over Ad Messaging: The preview tool considers advertisers’ text guidelines and restrictions, helping them check AI-generated copy for brand consistency and review suggestions in eight supported languages.

Google has introduced a preview tool that gives advertisers an early look at the text its AI may suggest for their ads, helping them assess the copy before enabling the feature.

The feature is documented in Google's Search campaigns help guide. Advertisers can access sample text without turning on text customization or launching a campaign.

A Quick Look at AI-Generated Headlines and Descriptions

To generate sample ad copy, advertisers need to enter the webpage they want their ads to direct users to. Google AI then creates up to 10 sample text assets for review. These examples usually appear in less than 30 seconds.

If the URL field is empty, advertisers can enter their landing page address and select “Preview examples” to view the generated content.

This gives advertisers an early look at the messaging Google AI may suggest for their ads.

Advertisers Can Apply Their Text Rules

The preview also takes an advertiser's text guidelines into account. For example, advertisers can specify terms they do not want to use or themes they want to avoid.

Google uses these restrictions when generating the examples shown in the preview. If the rules are too strict to produce any suitable text, advertisers will be asked to change or remove some restrictions before trying again.

This allows advertisers to review suggested copy against their messaging requirements before moving ahead.

 Which Languages Are Supported?

The preview tool works across eight languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Dutch. Advertisers can use it to review suggested ad copy in these supported languages.

Hana Kobzová also reported the update on PPC News Feed, noting that advertisers can now examine sample AI-written ad copy before deciding to use text customization.

Why This Update Matters

AI-generated ad copy can save advertisers time, but they may still want to check the wording before using it. The new preview option gives them an opportunity to review Google's suggestions earlier in the setup process.

Advertisers can identify wording that does not fit their brand, review their text restrictions and make adjustments before enabling the feature. This provides more visibility into the content Google AI may produce for their Search campaigns.
